2010年上映的影片《创战纪》投资不少，总票房约1亿7200万美元。此后该科幻系列的续集《创：上升》也炒的沸沸扬扬。而今日，据好莱坞报道者消息，迪士尼决定取消推进《创：上升》影片。同时，消息来源还说迪士尼官方从未正式推进过《创：上升》这个项目。而就在今年4月份，还有消息称导演约瑟夫·科金斯基将再接执导筒，主演加内特·赫德兰、奥利维亚·王尔德等也将回归，甚至还有消息称影片将于今年10月在加拿大的温哥华以及不列颠哥伦比亚省拍摄，并且迪士尼有望让杰瑞德·莱托也加盟本片，但协商结果并未达成一致。
