《被欲望驱使的安娜达》是一部在形式上和结构上均十分复杂的关乎幻想和性沉沦 的电影。電影改编自匈牙利著名小说家Imre Gyongyossy的《漂浮着的女人》，影片以怪诞的寓言形式讲述一位渔夫救起一个溺水的女人，并带她回家保护她，然而，女人却彻底占有并改变了他们之前平静的生活，与渔夫和他的妻子之间产生了微妙复杂的关系，后来女人突然消失，渔夫和他的妻子也最终被魔鬼所诱惑而走上了绝路。影片中大量神秘和象征意义的画面蕴涵着很深的哲学思想，是新浪潮中最复杂的电影之一。
Karel Kachyna与著名编剧Jan Prochazka合作的《圣夜》，是他的代表作之一，虽然卡切纳的电影很多，但真正值得推荐的还是他与Prochazka合作的那几部，包括《监听》《圣夜》《苦难》《希望》《共和国万岁》《维也纳快车》《可笑的人》和《高墙》，而这些作品都创作于60-70年间，正是新浪潮最兴盛的一段时期。1967年两人的影片《圣夜》取材于圣经中的故事，在这部电影里影射了两人从对集体公社的向往到最后现实的绝望。因为题材太过于敏感，在最终电影里并没有出现他们二人的名字。
