A police ski instructor is sent undercover to a quiet alpine resort to investigate burglary. At the same resort 12 girls-skiers come on vacation.
本剧1884年1月19日首演于巴黎喜歌剧院。十八世纪初的法国，年老的财政大臣莫尔方丹把自己的马车交给曼侬使用，想以此博得她的欢心。曼侬却对年轻骑士格里厄产生了爱慕之心，两人一同乘马车逃往巴黎。因曼侬到处卖弄风情，格里厄心灰意冷，不仅当了修士，还想自杀。曼侬找到他承认自己的过错。两人在赌场赢了很多钱。莫尔方丹为了报复曼侬，污蔑格里厄赌场作弊，咒骂曼侬行为放荡，并叫来警察，将她关了起来，并判驱逐出境。格里厄和表哥前来搭救，劝她一起逃走，可曼侬已病入膏肓。她请求格里厄宽恕她的过去，最后死在爱人的怀抱里。
